Why Jonathan Bailey, Harrison Ford and More Were MIA From Oscars 2025

Oscars 2025: What You Didn't See on TV!

Hollywood’s biggest ceremony was missing a few dazzling attendees.

It was a golden night at the 2025 Oscars as stars like Mikey Madison and Zoe Saldaña—who won Best Actress in a Leading Role for Anora and Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Emilia Pérez, respectively—were awarded trophies and fellow nominees Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo put on spectacular performances. However, there were some missing faces in the crowd at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles March 2.

Although Harrison Ford was set to be a presenter at the 97th annual Academy Awards, he had to drop out following a shingles diagnosis, his rep confirmed to People. Jonathan Bailey, who was nominated alongside his Wicked cast and crew for Best Picture, wasn't in the audience since he's been onstage in London for the West End production of Richard II.

While the Bridgerton star's presence was missed, his Wicked costar Jeff Goldblum couldn't but gush to Live From E!: The Oscars about his pal's current project. As he said of Jonathan to Zuri Hall, "He's a masterful, eighth-degree black belt actor."

Pamela Anderson has been on cloud nine with nominations at the Golden Globes and SAG Awards for her film The Last Showgirl, but she didn't make an appearance at the Oscars since she didn't earn any nods. However, she's just grateful for all the recognition she's earned.

“You couldn't have told me I'd be here a decade ago, so this is very exciting for me, to even be in the conversation,” Pamela emphasized to BBC News last month. "I just wish everybody well."

While this award season has certainly been one to remember, not all of the nominees have been able to join in on the celebrations. After all, sometimes things happen and other times, schedules just don't align.

Indeed, despite winning Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Comedy Series at the 2025 SAG Awards last month, Martin Short couldn't attend after being diagnosed with Covid-19 following Saturday Night Live's 50th anniversary special.

The Only Murders in the Building star, however, was celebrating from a distance. "The honor of being awarded by your peers is even greater," he shared in a statement to People. "Thank you so so much."

Jeremy Allen White might’ve earned the Best Actor win at the 2025 Golden Globes in January for The Bear, but he wasn’t in the audience at the Beverly Hilton. He was actually on the East Coast filming the upcoming Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere.

But empty seats didn’t stop the party, which was still filled with glitz, glamour and a lot of trophies. Read on to see all the winners from the 2025 Oscars.
