Watch Bill Burr Rant About ‘Nerd’ Elon Musk on ‘Fallon’

"I am so sick of that guy trying to rewrite his origin story like he was Matthew McConaughey pulling into the high school"

Bill Burr appeared on The Tonight Show to promote his new Hulu stand-up special Drop Dead Years and took the opportunity to reflect on the state of things in America. After explaining that the special was named after the reality that men his age often just drop dead, Burr began ranting about Elon Musk.

“It’s a positive time, Jimmy,” Burr told host Jimmy Fallon, speaking sarcastically. “Billionaires are not happy having a billion dollars. Why does Elon Musk dress like he just got out of a Hot Topic? I am so sick of that guy trying to rewrite his origin story like he was Matthew McConaughey pulling into the high school. It’s like, ‘You were a f-king nerd, nobody banged you, and now you have hair plugs, and your laminated face.'”

He continued, “And everybody is afraid of these nerds. I don’t get it. My whole life feminists were focusing on frat boys and guys with their hats on backwards, and they left the nerds alone. And now look ’em.”

He added, “And then they try to politicize everything say. And it’s just like, ‘I don’t know, shouldn’t you pay your workers?’ Don’t you remember that when we were growing up one week’s pay paid your rent. You had a little cottage, a little

boat, you know? Maybe a second family down the road. That’s what you did. You had the money.”

Burr also discussed making his Broadway debut in Glengarry Glen Ross, which is currently in previews. “It’s going good,” Burr said. “Previews are weird. They’re like ‘Well, it’s just previews.’ And I’m thinking like, ‘Well, people paid to see it! So it’s gotta be good, right?’ But I’m finding the crowds are really nice.”

This is the second time recently Burr has taken aim at Musk during an interview. During an appearance on an episode of NPR‘s Fresh Air, Burr fired off at Musk, calling him “evidently a Nazi” and criticized liberals for their lack of response to the tech giant’s political influence.

Burr also took aim at liberals, saying they have “no teeth, whatsover” since Musk began heading Trump’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which has directed mass firings of tens of thousands of federal employees and moved to shutter whole government agencies.

“They just go, ‘Oh my God, can you believe this? I’m getting out of the country!’ I’m just like, you’re gonna leave the country because of one guy with dyed hair plugs and a laminated face?” Burr said. “Who makes a bad car and has an obsolete social media platform? Why doesn’t he leave? Why are we so afraid of this guy who can’t fight his way out of a wet paper bag?”
