The series returns in July 2025 with 11 episodes for its final (and longest) season

The Summer I Turned Pretty will escape to Cousins Beach one last time as the series sets an awaited release date for its third and final season. The Prime Video series based on Jenny Han‘s romance trilogy will return in July 2025, with the author making her directorial debut.

The show will linger for a while as it sets an 11-episode slate, notably longer than its seven-episode run for season one and eight-episode run for season two. The most recent set of episodes premiered in July 2023. Season Three was delayed due to the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

The key art for the new season features Belly (Lola Tung) standing tall in a yellow dress against a wall of hydrangeas. The series left off with Belly further exploring her relationship with Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) while his brother and her first love, Conrad (Christopher Briney), returns to Cousins to clean up their family beach house alone.

“And if the longtime friends and fumbling lovers can’t figure

out a way to work together, the beach house is next,” Rolling Stone’s review of the second season read. “Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah are forced to watch the sand shift underneath their feet and must grapple with the possibility that even love might not be enough to stop things from floating away forever.”

Both seasons one and two arrived with trailers featuring music from Taylor Swift. For its debut, The Summer I Turned Pretty premiered “This Love (Taylor’s Version)” from her re-recording of 1989. Then, when grief and heartbreak entered the picture for season two, the trailers were appropriately set to “August” from Folklore and “Back To December (Taylor’s Version)” from her re-recording of Speak Now.

A self-proclaimed Swiftie, Han is also the author behind To All the Boys I Loved Before and its spin-off series XO, Kitty. “I want to keep telling stories, and right now, I am focusing on adapting the stories that I’ve already written,” she told Elle last year. “But I would like to expand and be able to help others tell their stories too.”
