Jenny Han Talks Filming The Summer I Turned Pretty
It’s almost time to say goodbye to the Cousins house.
Over a year after Prime Video confirmed their series, The Summer I Turned Pretty, will return to the beach for a third and final season, the network revealed the show’s sun-kissed premiere date.
The Summer franchise—which is based on Jenny Han’s book trilogy of the same name—will run its 11-episode season in July, according to a Prime Video news release. This exciting revelation differs from their original July 2023 announcement, which stated the third installment would end with 10 episodes.
Amazon Prime also shared the final season’s teaser art, which sees Lola Tung—who plays as Isabel “Belly” Conklin—posed in front of a sea of flowers while wearing a yellow dress. The series follows her character as she’s caught in a dramatic love triangle between brothers Conrad (played by Mean Girls’ Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah Fisher (led by Gavin Casalegno) during her summer vacation to their beach house.
Fittingly, the show’s farewell was created by familiar names in the Summer universe. Not only is Jenny, 44, leading the series again, but writer Sarah Kucserka and Karen Rosenfelt—who contributed to the project’s Season 2 run in 2022—are returning as showrunners and executive producers. Paul Lee, Hope Hartman, and Mads Hansen will also serve as this season’s WIIP.

While the network didn’t reveal what other stars will reprise their roles, they’ve been tight-lipped about the direction this season will take. They offered limited information even when the third season was renewed in 2023, leaving stars like Christopher wondering how the plot would progress.
“I so genuinely don’t know,” the 25-year-old told E! News last January, adding that Jenny keeps details about the characters “very secret.”
As Christopher noted, “They don't tell me anything.”

Lola Tung
There's no love greater than self-love—just ask the leading star of The Summer I Turned Pretty! Lola may be single, but she's learned a lot about love and life while playing Belly.
"I learned to sort of just go easy on myself a little bit because I think especially as a teenage girl, she's very hard on herself," she explained to Seventeen when asked about lessons she took away from the show. "I'm very hard on myself and she's going through so much and making mistakes and that's only natural. We all make mistakes and that's how you learn and that's part of growing up."
She added, "I've very much tried to just take a little bit of the pressure off myself and just be more present and enjoy things as they come."

Christopher and the actress-singer began dating in 2021 after graduating Pace University together. To mark their first "feelingsiversary" last May, Isabel shared a photo of the couple sharing a smooch by a lake, writing, "so glad we kiss now."
And when it was time for their actual first anniversary, Christopher celebrated the occasion with a heartfelt social media tribute of his own. "a whole year!?" he captioned a photo and video of the pair together. "i could never want anything else."

The Flight Attendant actor (he's Cam on TSITP) is choosing to keep his love life off social media after dabbling with online dating. Rachel Blanchard
Before Rachel tied the knot with Emmy-nominated composer Jeremy Turner, she was at the center of a strange Internet hoax that falsely claimed she was secretly married with two children.
According to the Clueless (the tv show, not the movie) alum, who plays Conrad and Jeremiah's mom Susannah, the bogus rumor got so bad that she lost a job as a result. "I think I have an Internet stalker, who started that and then won't take it down. I keep having it taken down and he keeps putting it back up," she told ABC News in 2014. "It's really annoying."

"We've got so much in common," he continued. "The three of us are crazy. I love them, we still hang out all the time whenever Gavin's in New York."
