Nearly two months after the Little Mix alum announced that she was expecting identical twins with Zion Foster, she shared that she's been experiencing a difficult pregnancy.
"We just wanted to let you in on a bit of our journey and what we've been going through," Jesy said in a March 5 Instagram video with Zion. "Unfortunately, there are complications that come with having identical twins."
She explained that she is carrying Monochorionic Diamniotic Twins, which means that the fetuses have their own amniotic sacs but share a single placenta.
"It can lead to tons of complications," she continued, "One baby might take all of the nutrients, which, really awful to say, could lead to both babies dying."
Since Jesy's twins do not have separate placentas, she shared that she is currently in "pre-stage TTTS," or twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, which occurs when the fetuses receive unequal amounts of the placenta's blood.
"I'm being monitored very closely," she added. "I have to go be scanned twice
a week. The current situation that we're in at the moment is that every time I've gone, it's got a little bit worse."
"But we are just hoping and praying for the best," she continued, "We feel so blessed that we've been given twins, but it's just really sad that, unfortunately, it does come with its complications, which we had no idea about."

"We feel it's really important to share our journey with you guys and let you know what's happening," she explained. "We are just hoping for the best, and we're really fortunate that I am lucky enough to be scanned twice a week and we get to check on the babies."
And as Jesy and Zion, who were first linked in 2022, navigate the pregnancy, they're also focusing on the positives.
"When I found out we were having twins, Zion and me were super shocked," she said on her Instagram Story in January. "It wasn't planned, but I instantly felt happy as soon as I saw that I was."
