Olivia Culpo opened up about her endometriosis diagnosis and how it may affect fertility, two years before announcing she is pregnant with her and Christian McCaffrey’s first baby.

Olivia Culpo is leaving her biggest worries behind.
Two years before announcing she is pregnant with her and Christian McCaffrey’s first baby, the former Miss Universe winner shared insight into her fertility fears.
“I want to have kids, but I want to make sure that I can,” Olivia said in a November 2022 episode of The Culpo Sisters. “It could be really hard for me to have babies.”
She was diagnosed with endometriosis—a reproductive condition in which the uterine tissue grows outside of the uterus—back in 2020 and underwent surgery to treat the condition that same year.
“Endometriosis can affect your fertility in a lot of different ways,” the 32-year-old explained. “You can have endometrial tissue growing near or on your ovaries, it can affect the quality of your eggs, scar your fallopian tubes.”
Without knowing exactly how her condition would impact her ability to start a family with Christian, 28—whom she married in June after five years together—Olivia felt pressure to expedite the process.
“There is so much that I don’t know about what’s going to happen in the future with that condition and I worry all the time about my timeline,” she noted. “I feel like I have to have kids ASAP.”
And with this “looming timeline” at the forefront of her mind, she dreaded every gynecologist appointment.
“I’m always scared of what they’re gonna say,” Olivia admitted on the TLC show during a visit to the doctor’s office. “I’m literally just staring at her lips waiting for her to say something. I just want her to say something good. I just wanna know that everything looks okay.”
Because before she received her diagnosis, she shared that it took “at least 12” doctors to figure out what was causing her health issues.

"There were people that were trying to rob me for my money," the model said on an episode of S.H.E. MD’s podcast last March, "and then there were people that just simply thought I was overreacting. I remember I felt like I was going to die, I was in so much pain."
Fast-forward to now, the mother-to-be can put her biggest fears behind her, as she is just a few months away from expanding her family with the San Francisco 49ers running back.
As for how they announced
her pregnancy? Following months of pregnancy rumors, Olivia posted a stunning black-and-white photo of herself cradling her baby bump with the simple caption, “next chapter, motherhood.”
