Oscars 2025: Georgina Chapman Reacts to Adrien Brody’s Halle Berry Kiss

Goldie Hawn didn’t fall overboard—she was just busy at the 2025 Oscars.

After the Private Benjamin actress presented at the March 2 ceremony alongside Andrew Garfield, which included a touching moment where the Spider-Man alum praised her for making his late mom laugh during her life, Goldie’s son Oliver Hudson commented on the sweet tribute.

“This was so touching and unexpected,” Oliver wrote to Instagram March 3. “Andrew that was beautiful my man. I cried, I laughed, I swelled with pride and then became concerned that my mom was now gonna love Andrew Garfield more than me.”

In fact, the 48-year-old quipped, “I’m still not sure where I stand. She hasn’t responded to my texts so…”

But Goldie—who is also mom to daughter Kate Hudson with ex Bill Hudson, as well as son Wyatt Russell with partner Kurt Russell—also joined in on the fun, responding to Oliver, “I’m sorry I didn’t answer your texts honey, I was talking to Andrew!!!”

As for what the Oscar winner was discussing with the We Live In Time actor? Perhaps it was the kind words he told her from the stage.

“There’s someone, there’s a person, who gave my mother during her life, the most joy, the most comfort,” Andrew shared while holding Goldie’s hand, “and tonight I feel very lucky because I get to thank that person from the bottom of my heart. That person is Goldie Hawn.”

As the First Wives Club star thanked him for the generous words, Andrew acknowledged his mom Lynn Garfield, who died in 2019 from pancreatic cancer.

“I can feel her smiling at us in this moment,” he continued. “You’ve given us movies full of joy. You’ve lifted our spirits and you made us feel that all was right with the world, over and over and over again.”

Stunned by his kindness, Goldie responded, “I just loved it, you know? I just loved making movies and this amazing Hollywood and making people laugh and maybe some didn’t but that’s okay.”
