Nicolas Cage’s son Weston Cage has announced he is engaged to Jenifer Alexa Canter, saying in a statement that the model, who is a longtime friend of his, “saved” his life.

Nicolas Cage’s son is taking an exciting step in life.
Weston Coppola Cage—whom the National Treasure star shares with ex Christina Fulton—recently announced he is engaged to longtime friend Jenifer Alexa Canter.
“Jenifer is my first love, my only love and my last,” Weston—who has been married three times previously to Hila Cage Coppola, Nikki Williams and Danielle Cage—said in a statement to E! News. “We were born in the same hospital and I’ve loved her since I was a teenager. She is the love of my life and I am committed to her forever.”
And the 34-year-old, who has been facing legal trouble for an alleged assault of his mother Christina, emphasized that the model has assisted him in his sobriety journey.
“Jenifer saved my life,” the D-Day star continued. “I am so happy now that my sobriety isn’t even a struggle. I can’t imagine returning to the active addiction as I now have all that I have ever wanted. Thank God I don’t have to pretend to be happy anymore.”
In addition to the couple’s upcoming nuptials, Weston—who shares 4-year-old twin daughters Venice and Cyress with ex Hila, as well as sons Lucian, 11, and Sorin, 8, with ex Danielle—teased that the couple have begun working together, too.
“We have multiple projects in the works,” he added. “One of which is a classic mafia style movie which we have both written and we are filming a movie together in April."
Weston’s life update comes amid an otherwise turbulent time for the Boneyard actor and his family. Just last month, his mother Christina accused father Nicolas of enabling his criminal behavior following Weston allegedly assaulting her.

However, the Dream Scenario star promptly shut down the accusation through a lawyer.
“The allegations by Christina Fulton against Nicolas Cage are absurd and frivolous,” Nicolas’ lawyer said in a statement to E! News Feb. 20. “Weston Coppola is a 34-year-old man. Mr. Cage does not control Weston's behavior in any manner and is not responsible for Weston's alleged assault of his mother.”
Weston was arrested last
July for the alleged assault, per documents obtained by E! News. Authorities told the Los Angeles Times that he has pleaded not guilty to two felony charges regarding the incident.
A hearing is set for some time this month, per court records previously obtained by E! News.
