Leni Klum Responds to Criticism of Her and Mom Heidi Klum’s Lingerie Ad
Leni Klum knows she’s got talent.
And that’s what helps the 20-year-old daughter of Heidi Klum and Seal to block out the haters, including those who weren’t fans of her and her mom’s joint lingerie photoshoot for Intimissimi in October.
“I always try to remember that no matter what you do, there will always be someone who doesn’t like it,” Leni told Glamour Germany in an interview translated from German and published March 11. “You simply have no control over it and you can’t focus too much on the negative.”
While Leni said she can “easily” focus on negativity, she prefers to look on the brighter side. Besides, as she explained of the criticism, “Most of the comments are in German, and I don't really understand many of them. That helps too, of course.”
Leni—who attends New York University as an interior design student in addition to modeling—also argued that her work is “not just jumping in front of the camera and looking pretty.”
“There are a lot of things that happen behind the scenes that you don't even see in the end product,” she explained. “Modeling requires a lot of discipline.”
And Heidi—who also shares kids Henry, 19, Johan, 18, and Lou, 15, with her ex-husband—played a large part in helping her understand that.

“Even as a child I practically begged my mum to let me accompany her to her appointments,” Leni explained to the outlet. “I was fascinated by everything on set: the hair styling, the make-up and how much fun my mother had during the shoot. I knew straight away that I wanted to do that, too.”
Leni continued, “When I was 13, I finally wanted to start modeling myself, but my mom stopped me. I was too young. Today, I would say: she was right!”
These days, Leni is keen on leaning into true happiness.
“For me, success is satisfaction,” she shared. “As long as you are happy and what you do fulfills you, then you know you have really achieved it.”
