Sister Wives’ Janelle Brown Shares “Bittersweet” Memories With Late Son Garrison Brown
Janelle Brown keeps son Garrison Brown close to her heart.
One year after the Sister Wives star’s son died by suicide at the age of 25, Janelle shared an update on how she is navigating her grief and honoring his memory.
“I stay busy but in EVERY quiet moment you are first and foremost in my thoughts,” she captioned a March 5 post. “It’s been a year baby. We miss you so much. I miss you so much.”
She also offered fans a way to give back in his honor.
“I encourage everyone reading this to consider making a donation to your local animal shelter, rescue, or humane society,” Janelle added. “This cause was close to Garrison’s heart—he adopted all three of his cats from shelters.”
And indeed, in the accompanying photo she shared, Garrison can be seen smiling as he holds one of his cats to his shoulder.
Written over the image was a quote from the 1996 film Dragonheart, which reads, “To the stars, Bowen, to the stars.”
Janelle—who also shares kids Logan Brown, 30, Madison Brush, 29, Hunter Brown, 27, Gabriel Brown, 24, and Savanah Brown, 20, with ex Kody Brown—finished off her post with contact information for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
In the year since Garrison’s passing, Janelle has drawn comfort from being with friends and family for certain milestones—including her first Thanksgiving without Garrison.

"First of the 'big' holidays without you sweetheart," she wrote Dec. 1 alongside a younger photo of Garrison. "We all gathered in NC to celebrate together and kept your photo close by."
"We laughed about your silly sense of humor and told so many stories honoring you," Janelle continued. "We ate, played games and enjoyed each other’s company. Everyone is returning home now and normal life resumes tomorrow. But I feel you close by."

For his part, Kody has spoken to navigating his own grief.
"The hard part is giving away that future that I saw for him, the excitement," he told People in September. "It's strange having your child pass. The wave of grief is different that any wave of grief I have ever had with a best friend passing, with a relative passing. It's different. And it is different in the idea that it's irreconcilable — the future that we missed with him."
