Halle Bailey Deactivates Social Media Accounts and Calls Out DDG Over Son Halo

DDG is trying to be a present father.

Months after the rapper (real name Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.) and ex Halle Bailey announced their breakup in October, he has alleged the Little Mermaid actress is keeping him from their 15-month-old son Halo.

“I just don’t want it to come to the point where he’s like, ‘Alright, my pops not around,’” DDG explained during a livestream shared to YouTube March 8. “That’s my main thing. I was more frustrated and annoyed than anything.”

DDG, who also detailed the custody predicament in a song released ahead of the livestream, emphasized that he felt that laying out the back-and-forth on a track was his only option.

“I’ve been dealing with this s--t for a long time,” he noted. “I never spoke on it for the simple fact that I don’t like putting y’all in my real life business but I’m like, ‘Okay, I don’t know what else to do.’”

In the song, titled “Don’t Take My Son,” he detailed and included lyrics like, “Don’t take my son / ‘Cause he all I got / Trying to make me pay to see my son / That going to make me hot.”

Still, the 27-year-old—who split from Halle in

October after over a year together—noted that he doesn’t want to take legal action concerning the custody dispute

“I don’t want to go to court,” he added in the livestream. “It’s going to get extremely messy and it don’t have to happen. I think it’s in her best interest to not want to go to court either, where we can just have a clear understanding.”

However, DDG posited that if the couple did bring their custody battle to court, he would be rewarded with more time with his son than he’s currently asking for.

“We go to court, the judge is going to give me some time,” he continued. “And when I got the time, I’m gonna do whatever I want with my son.”

But while it may work out better for him, DDG doesn’t believe it’s the best option for the former couple, adding of Halle, “I don’t want to go to court because it’s going to make her unhappy.”

As for Halle, she had previously slammed DDG for broadcasting their baby on his livestream shortly after the couple’s breakup.

I don't approve of my baby being on a stream tonight,” Halle, 25, wrote in a November post on X before deactivating her account. “I wasn't told or notified and i am extremely upset to have my baby in front of millions of people."

She continued, “I am his mother and protector and saddened that I wasn't notified.”
