Gypsy Rose Reveals Identity of Daughter Aurora’s Godmother

“She's also Auroras godmother,” Ken noted, “so we have a lot of that family support to help.”

As for how the couple has been tackling their new role as parents? They expressed a desire to approach parenting in a way that is “protective, but not too overprotective.”

And in doing that, they plan to “allow her to step her foot out into the world and embrace life that way,” Gypsy explained. “And we'll always be there as a family—not just us, but our parents and our sisters and brothers and everyone around us.”

“We have a huge support circle,” she added, “and I think that Aurora is going to have a great life growing up. It’s just about allowing her to be herself.”

But even with their village, raising a child in the public eye comes with its own set of unavoidable difficulties.

“We have to put all that aside,” Gypsy said of online public opinions regarding her family, “and really hone in on that family dynamic. Know that, ‘Hey, it's not just you and me.’”

“We have a child to protect,” she continued, “and trying to navigate our choices of parenthood on top of the stress of the public eye.”

And even though she is only a few months into motherhood, the 33-year-old has already faced some challenges and set firm boundaries for the good of her family. 

“For the first few weeks after she was born, the public was trying to get a photo of her by any means,” Gypsy recalled, “and we are not posting her face on social media. We said that a long

time ago and so. A lot of people were like, ‘Okay show her, show her.’ No, I'm the mother and y'all should respect the decision that we don't want to.”
