We spoke with celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos, who crafted the gorgeous Academy Awards look, inspired by Demi’s unforgettable early 2000s Vogue photoshoot. Dimitris shared, "I wanted to highlight Demi’s iconic look through the years. This is a celebration of her career and her achievements. I wanted her look to be glamorous and powerful. This image will live forever, so I wanted it to be timeless!"

In this exclusive interview, Dimitris reveals the steps to recreate Demi Moore’s shiny Oscars hair and the essential products you’ll need to keep your look flawless all night long.

E!: What’s the secret to keeping this style in place from the first photo to the after-party?  
DG: Make sure you use a long-lasting hair spray like the Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray to keep the hair in place and prevent frizz throughout the evening. And pray that it doesn’t rain!

E!: What’s the key to achieving hair with shine like Demi Moore’s red carpet looks?
DG: Argan oil is an amazing ingredient for smoothing hair and giving that beautiful shine. My go-to is Moroccanoil Treatment Original. It makes the hair so silky and shiny. 

I also used Moroccanoil Root Boost to add lift and

volume. Using a great hair dryer and straightener is another way to increase shine and smoothness on the hair.

Tonight, I used the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer and curled with the Dyson Corrale Straightener.

E!: For those of us who aren’t lucky enough to have you style our hair, what should we keep in mind when trying to recreate this look at home? 
DG: Always brush through your hair once you’ve finished curling it. This will give the hair a more natural, lived in look.
