Ciara Shares the Lessons She’ll Teach Her Daughters Sienna and Amora

"My mom always taught me about not taking gifts for free," she explained. "I felt there was power in that. As a woman, not everything free is good. Sometimes people can try to give you something, to manipulate you, right? So you've got to know the place that someone's coming from."

It's a perspective that Ciara plans to emphasize with Sienna and Amora. One that also includes teaching them the power of simply saying "no" when necessary.

"I always want my girls to feel valued, know that they can create their own self-worth, they're in control of themselves and where they can in life," she said. "I want my girls to know that they're not limited by their gender or the color of their skin."

Because the "Level Up" singer knows there's a balance between passing up opportunities and seeking out success. 

"I need to remind my girls to know when you are in the full essence of your honey and your sweetness, but also being firm and clear," she added, "you can make a lot happen in that space."

Although motherhood isn't always easy, Ciara is grateful to have found the perfect teammate in Russell. 

"He's an amazing father," she gushed on the Call Her Daddy podcast October 2023. "Watching him with all of our kids—it is

one of the sweetest things. It's one of the sexiest things, to be honest with you." 

"That's what you want," she continued. "There's no better feeling than knowing when we all look up and we look at him, he's got us. I know he's going to wrap his arms around me and my babies fully. There's no depth that he won't go to for us."
