Lacey Chabert Details “Full Circle” Reunion With Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Seyfried (Exclusive)
For Amanda Seyfried, acting may run in her blood.
Indeed, after exploring her family tree on PBS’ Finding Your Roots, the Mamma Mia actress discovered that one of her distant relatives is actually closer than she could’ve ever imagined.
“I have a distant cousin who’s also actress, Amy Ryan,” Amanda revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published March 7. “I also learned, my great, great, great grandfather got murdered in his pretzel shop.”
Along with her newfound relation to The Office actress—and the more grim finding—it seems her IMDb profile also highlighted her relation to Meet the Parents’ Blythe Danner and her daughter, the Iron Man star, Gwyneth Paltrow. But you can’t believe everything you see on the internet.
“No, it doesn’t,” the 39-year-old exclaimed upon seeing her profile. “Who wrote that?”
And after the reporter pointed out that IMDb’s editing process resembles that of Wikipedia’s, Amanda made it clear that she has no relation to the pair of talented movie stars.
“I am not related to them,” she added, thinking back to her recent ancestry deep dive, “and I know who I’m related to.”
Speaking of fake relatives, the Mean Girls alum also went on to tease her long-awaited reunion with her on-screen family in a certain musical franchise. When confronted with the rumors that her character Sophie would be continuing her story in a third movie, she responded with a simple, “Show me the money!”
“Producer Judy Craymer is always working on it,” she told the outlet, “but Universal still has to release Wicked 2. The first Wicked had to stall when Mamma Mia! 2 was getting made. It’s an either/or situation with musicals.”
And though they killed off Meryl Streep’s character Donna in the second film, there have been rumblings of her return for the threequel.

“Maybe that’s the stall,” Amanda joked. “They still haven’t figured out how to bring her back from the dead.”
“From what I was told, that was her choice,” she continued, “so maybe it’s on her to write it. I’m sure she has ideas. Meryl’s a genius. But I hope they figure it out. The one day that she was on set for the last movie was when it finally felt like we were all together again.”
